Why ‘End of the Fork?’
During my studies at Florida International University (FIU), one of my favorite hospitality marketing professors once told us that you could spend all of the money in the world on public relations, marketing, or advertising, but the best publicity one can possibly receive is on the “end of the fork.” To me, I took “end of the fork” as there is no better way to get the word out about a great tasting dish or an excellent restaurant experience than by word of mouth.
Stories on this blog will range from the time I wandered into a Chinese restaurant’s kitchen to borrow a few tablespoons of corn starch because I didn’t want to buy a whole box, to the time I asked to work in a Thai kitchen just to learn the tricks of the trade. You get the picture- these are not everyday occurrences.
My blog serves as a place to read about my experiences with food. I hope my postings encourage you to create your own great experiences and memories about food with your friends and family.
