3 Hours and 20 Minutes- All For A Slice Of Pizza…

… and yes, it really is one of THE BEST slices of pizza ever! As many of you know, I’ll travel for food. When I constantly hear of something being hyped up, one of two things happens: 1. I feel like it’s been hyped up so much that trying it will only lead to a let down or 2. Okay, enough people have hyped it up and it’s about time for me to go! Number two set in for me.

I had heard about DiFara’s multiple times – the amazing crust, the long lines, the old man making the pies etc. etc. So I took a trip out to Brooklyn to finally see it for myself. I ordered a couple slices and waited…and waited…and waited. And the wait was worth it. Luckily I got there when I did because by the time I left, the wait was over two hours long.

The Warning

The Warning

Dominico DeMarco has been making Neapolitan style pies for over 40 years, and he makes a damn good one. What looks like your traditional hand-tossed pie is in fact wafer thin and topped with three different types of cheese. He makes them pie by pie by pie by pie, and only he makes them. I could go on and on about the experience, but all you need to know is this pie is the real deal, it is worth the wait, and it’s time for you to go and try it.
